$35

When you purchase this list, you will get a video that carefully explains each of the activities.

Feel free to try them out at home. Remember that it is okay if you have never been part of a Scrum Team or worked as a Scrum Master, if you can confidently demonstrate your ability to engage the team.

If you can try this out at home, with family and friends, you can confidently explain how you could do the same for your team.

If you want to try this out with a Scrum Team, consider a Scrum Master internship with a real development team, working on a real product.

The advent of remote or hybrid work environments has increased the need for team engagement. As a Scrum Master, aside from helping the team stay focused on the Sprint and Product Goal, you must help the team maintain a high level of engagement and motivation.

A disconnected team is an under-performing team.

You must find ways to keep your team connected. Interviewers know that, and frame this need through interview questions such as?

  1. Are you familiar with team building exercises (or water cooler exercises)?
  2. How do you help your teams stay engaged or connected?
  3. Can you share a few team building exercises that you have tried or worked well for your teams?

Listen carefully – most people know basics water cooler activities like true or false, and tea or coffee.

If you are going to stand out during an interview, you must demonstrate a passion for what you do that exceeds that of others interviewing for the same position. You must demonstrate more than the average person.

More importantly, when you join a team, to keep them engaged, you must be creative. Team building exercises are hardly mandatory. For your team members to want to attend and participate, you must go beyond true or false or the tea vs coffee options.

How do you make it interesting.

I know how, and I have taken enough time to detail enough for you to run with.

These activities will help you in two ways.

  1. If will spark your creativity to create more activities. You will be surprised how many variations you would come up with after going through the list.
  2. Once your team is engaged, they will come up with variations that you did not think of. You will experience the power of numbers (and unity).

After implementing some of these activities, here is what was said:
